NTPC Renewable Energy Adds 49.1 MW Solar Capacity at Khavda Site

NTPC Green Energy Ltd has announced the successful commissioning of 49.125 megawatts (MW) of solar power at the Khavda Solar Energy Project in Bhuj, Gujarat. The new capacity was delivered through its fully owned subsidiary, NTPC Renewable Energy Ltd (NREL). This addition is part of a broader 300 MW solar development, contributing to an overall 450 MW hybrid project at the site.

Previously, the first phase of the solar project, with 142.2 MW, became commercially operational on June 28, 2025, followed by 32.8 MW in the second phase, which commenced operations on June 30, 2025. In a separate update, NTPC Green Energy Ltd also reported the commissioning of an additional 50 MW of solar capacity in Bhuj, as part of a 150 MW solar installation.

This particular project is being implemented by Ayana Renewable Power Four, a subsidiary of the joint venture between ONGC and NTPC Green Energy. These developments mark continued progress in the expansion of NTPC’s renewable energy portfolio, supporting India’s transition toward cleaner power generation.
