NMDC Steel Limited (NSL) has become the first steel plant in India to receive four Integrated Management System (ISO) certifications at once, marking a major milestone in the industry. The Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) presented the certifications to Shri K Praveen Kumar, Executive Director of NSL, and his team in Kolkata on Monday.
NSL was awarded certifications for Environmental Management System (EMS) ISO 14001, Quality Management System (QMS) ISO 9001, Occupational Health and Safety Management System (OHSMS) ISO 45001, and Energy Management System (EnMS) ISO 50001.
These certifications highlight NSL’s commitment to quality, safety, and environmental responsibility, reflecting the company’s dedication to achieving the highest standards in steel production. The recognition by BIS affirms it’s focus on continuous improvement and innovation in sustainable steelmaking.
Shri Amitava Mukherjee, CMD (Additional Charge) of the company, said, “We are honored to receive these prestigious ISO certifications, which validate our technical expertise and commitment to setting higher standards in India’s steel industry.
