Novus Hi-Tech has teamed up with Eicher Trucks and Buses to unveil cutting-edge safety systems for mining vehicles at the Bharat Mobility Global Expo 2025 in New Delhi. These systems, which comply with Directorate General of Mine Safety (DGMS) regulations, feature advanced functions including driver monitoring, proximity warning, and automatic headlight control.
The Driver Monitoring System uses AI to assess driver alertness and detect potential risks, while the radar-based Proximity Warning System offers collision alerts. Additionally, the Auto Dipper System adjusts headlight intensity to enhance visibility in low-light environments.
Deep Kapuria, Chairman of Novus Hi-Tech, highlighted the company’s dedication to developing homegrown technology, while Vinod Aggarwal, MD & CEO of VE Commercial Vehicles Limited (VECV), shared that the collaboration seeks to modernize India’s commercial vehicle industry.
Novus Hi-Tech has successfully deployed 70,000 units of its safety systems across 20 vehicle models and holds over 100 patents. Their technology, based on analyzing 7 billion kilometers of driving data, has contributed to preventing 200,000 accidents.
This partnership comes as India’s mining sector faces increasing pressure to raise safety standards. The Ministry of Labour and Employment has been enforcing stricter regulations, underscoring the growing importance of advanced safety systems for mining vehicles.
