NORD’s nsd tupH process provides an excellent alternative to stainless steel, making drive surfaces highly corrosion-resistant. Unlike a coating, this treatment is based on an electrolytic process, creating a protective layer that permanently bonds to the substrate material. This ensures that nothing can detach or flake off. Drives treated with nsd tupH are highly resistant to acids and alkalis, making them easy to clean and maintain. This efficient surface treatment is ideal for applications in hygienically critical areas of the food, beverage, packaging, pharmaceutical, or chemical industries. It is also well-suited for use in extremely humid environments, such as maritime and coastal areas.
NORD DRIVESYSTEMS introduces the IE5+ motor generation, specially designed for the food and beverage industry, as well as the intralogistics sector. This motor generation is available in fanless and smooth versions, with power ratings up to 4.0 kW, continuous torque ranging from 1.6 to 18.2 Nm, and speeds from 0 to 2,100 min-1. The fanless variant features a smooth surface and hygienic design, making it efficient, easy to clean, corrosion-resistant, and suitable for wash-down applications. It is perfect for reliable use in hygienically sensitive environments and offers optional nsd tupH surface treatment and IP69K protection class. These compact and energy-efficient synchronous motors maintain high efficiency, up to 95%, over a wide torque range, ensuring optimal energy consumption even in partial load and speed ranges.
NORD DRIVESYSTEMS presents the SAFOMI-IEC adapter (Sealless Adapter For Mixers), specially developed for mixers and agitators. This adapter incorporates an integrated oil expansion chamber, offering MAXXDRIVE® industrial gear units enhanced reliability and reduced maintenance. Compact and straightforward in design, the SAFOMI-IEC adapter eliminates the need for oil tanks, hoses, and the radial shaft seal between the gear unit and IEC cylinder, which is prone to leakage and wear.
SAFOMI is available for MAXXDRIVE® parallel gear units, covering sizes 7 to 11, accommodating maximum output torques ranging from 25 to 75 kNm. The combination of the MAXXDRIVE® industrial gear unit, SAFOMI-IEC adapter, and a drive motor is an optimal choice for mixer and agitator applications, reducing wear and the number of components involved.
