NORD DRIVESYSTEMS concluded SPS 2024 on a positive note, reporting a strong turnout at its booth during the automation trade fair in Nuremberg. This year’s event saw an increase in visitor numbers, and NORD’s presence was particularly well-received, highlighting the company’s continued relevance in the drive solutions industry.
SPS 2024 lived up to its reputation as the “summit of automation experts,” with more attendees than the previous year. For NORD, the fair proved to be an effective platform for connecting with customers. “Our key products, including the efficient IE5+ motors and decentralized drive electronics, were in high demand,” said Gernot Zarp, Sales Manager at NORD. “We welcomed many interested visitors, leading to productive discussions and valuable new contacts.”
At the showcase, NORD presented several advanced products designed to enhance energy efficiency and operational flexibility. One of the highlights was the IE5+ Synchronous Motors, which exceed the highest efficiency standards, reaching up to 95% efficiency. When paired with NORDAC frequency inverters, these motors provide one of the most energy-efficient drive systems available on the market, supporting sustainable operations.
Another key feature was the Decentralized NORDAC ON/ON+ Frequency Inverters, the latest addition to the NORDAC family. These inverters now come equipped with advanced functional safety features, including Safe Lock Stop (SLS), Safe Motor Stop (SMS), and Safe Speed Monitoring (SSM), offering enhanced protection and reliability for various applications.
The Decentralized NORDAC LINK SK 250E Frequency Inverter was also on display, a fully configurable inverter designed for ease of installation and flexibility. This inverter features a plug-in capability and can be mounted directly near the motor, simplifying setup and reducing the need for additional wiring. Lastly, the Revised NORDCON Parameterization Software was showcased, featuring an updated version that includes both a mobile app and a new Windows app with a customizable dashboard, making the parameterization and monitoring of NORD drives more user-friendly and efficient.
With these innovative products, NORD underscored its expertise in providing solutions for the evolving industry. “We support our customers with drive systems that address complex challenges,” Zarp noted. The trade fair conversations reaffirmed the growing demand for solutions that meet changing energy and cost efficiency standards. “Our industry knowledge and modular systems allow us to make a significant contribution to our customers’ success,” he added.
Zarp expressed gratitude to all visitors who engaged with NORD at the event, as well as the SPS and booth teams for their contributions to the fair’s success. He also looked forward to the next SPS, scheduled for November 25-27, 2025, continuing NORD’s tradition of innovation and customer collaboration.
