NMDC Wins Six PRSI National Awards for Excellence in R&D, CSR, and Communications

National Mineral Development Corporation Ltd (NMDC), India’s top producer of iron ore, has been honored with six awards at the PRSI National Awards 2024. The recognition took place during the 46th All India Public Relations Conference in Raipur from December 20 to 22. NMDC was acknowledged for its exceptional work in Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR), Research and Development (R&D), and Corporate Communications.

The awards were presented by Shri Vijay Sharma, Deputy Chief Minister of Chhattisgarh, along with Shri Arun Sao, Deputy Chief Minister, and Shri Nanda Kumar Sai, Former MP. Shri P. Shyam (GM – CSR), Shri Jay Prakash (GM – Corporate Communications), Shri Ch. Srinivasa Rao (DGM – Corporate Communications), and Shri Vibhuti Roshan (DGM – Mining Processing) accepted the awards on behalf of NMDC.

The company achieved notable recognition by securing six prestigious awards across diverse categories. It earned the First Prize for its ‘Corporate Film Hindi,’ showcasing its excellence in visual storytelling, and the First Prize for ‘Best R&D Efforts for Promoting Science and Technology,’ reflecting its commitment to innovation. Additionally, it received the Second Prize for its impactful CSR initiatives under the category of ‘Best PSU Implementing CSR Projects,’ as well as for its well-crafted ‘E-Newsletter,’ which highlights the organization’s effective communication strategies.

Further accolades include the Third Prize for its comprehensive ‘Annual Report,’ underscoring its transparency and governance, and another Third Prize for the ‘Best Use of Social Media in a Corporate Campaign,’ demonstrating its adeptness in leveraging digital platforms to engage stakeholders. These awards collectively emphasize the company’s dedication to excellence in corporate practices, innovation, and social responsibility.

Amitava Mukherjee, Director (Finance) at NMDC, expressed pride in the achievements, stating, “These awards highlight the power of effective communication. They reflect how NMDC conveys its values, vision, and commitment to national development, fostering strong relationships with stakeholders.”

NMDC’s CSR initiatives are making significant strides in Chhattisgarh and Karnataka, focusing on education, healthcare, sanitation, infrastructure, and skill development, ensuring a positive impact on communities. Additionally, NMDC’s R&D efforts continue to push forward key projects, contributing significantly to the mineral sector’s advancement.
