Nissan Motor India has begun exporting more than 10,000 units of the Left-Hand Drive (LHD) version of the new Nissan Magnite. The first batch of nearly 2,900 units left Chennai’s Kamarajar Port (KPL – Ennore) in January 2025, bound for select markets in the LATAM region. A second shipment, consisting of over 7,100 units, will head to the Middle East, North Africa, select LATAM, and Asia Pacific markets in February 2025, bringing the total to more than 10,000 units by the end of the month.

Launched in India in October 2024, the Nissan Magnite is now part of the brand’s ‘One Car, One World’ strategy. Produced at the Alliance JV plant in Chennai, the vehicle will be available in more than 65 markets globally, including Left-Hand Drive regions.

Frank Torres, Divisional Vice President of AMIEO Region Business Transformation & President of Nissan India Operations, stated that this export milestone for the Magnite is a significant achievement for Nissan Motor India. SaurabhVatsa, Managing Director of Nissan Motor India, emphasized the company’s dedication to its ‘Make in India, Make for the World’ vision.

The New Nissan Magnite features a striking design, an 8-inch touchscreen infotainment system with Apple CarPlay and Android Auto, six airbags, ABS, EBD, and a turbocharged 1.0-litre engine with both manual and CVT transmission options.

This export initiative further solidifies India’s role as a critical manufacturing hub for Nissan. The company recently started shipping the Right-Hand Drive (RHD) Magnite to South Africa, with over 2,700 units exported within a month of its global launch. Since its global debut in December 2020, over 170,000 units of the New Nissan Magnite have been sold worldwide.

Nissan Motor India, a subsidiary of Nissan Motor Co. Ltd. Japan, operates a manufacturing plant and R&D Centre in Chennai. The company, in partnership with Renault, has invested $1.8 billion in India, generating over 70,000 direct and indirect jobs.
