Nissan Motor India has launched its first national training center, the Nissan Academy, at the Alliance joint venture plant in Chennai, Tamil Nadu. This state-of-the-art facility is designed to upskill dealership and service staff across the country, reinforcing Nissan’s commitment to enhancing customer service standards.

Spanning 10,500 square feet, the academy was inaugurated by Frank Torres, Divisional Vice President AMIEO & President of its India Operations. It has the capacity to train over 1,000 technicians annually, focusing on areas such as sales, technical maintenance, and body shop services. The training aims to ensure a consistent, high-quality after-sales experience across it’s extensive network in India.

The facility is equipped with a modern mechanical workshop for vehicle repairs, diagnostics, and component overhauls, along with a body shop featuring advanced tools for comprehensive repair training. This hands-on approach underscores it’s dedication to equipping its teams with the skills required to meet customer expectations effectively.

“The Academy represents a pivotal step in our journey to deliver outstanding customer service in India,” said Frank Torres. He emphasized that the academy is part of it’s broader efforts to ensure customer satisfaction through the professional development of its dealership teams.

This initiative aligns with it’s strategy to deepen its presence in India, complementing recent product launches such as the Nissan X-TRAIL and the New Nissan Magnite. These moves reflect it’s global philosophy of offering customer-focused solutions tailored to regional needs.

Nissan Motor India, a wholly-owned subsidiary of Nissan Motor Co., Ltd., has been operating in India since 2010. With a manufacturing plant and R&D center in Chennai, the company and its global partner Renault have invested $1.8 billion in the Indian market, generating over 70,000 jobs and skilling opportunities in the region.
