Nissan India has commenced exporting the new Magnite to South Africa under its global initiative, ‘One Car, One World.’ The compact SUV, launched in October 2024, saw its first shipment dispatched from Nissan’s Chennai manufacturing facility. Within a month, over 2,700 units have been sent to South Africa.
The Magnite, produced at the Chennai plant, is slated for export to more than 65 markets, including regions requiring left-hand drive models. Since its debut in December 2020, the Magnite has surpassed 150,000 global sales. The latest iteration aims to bolster Nissan’s footprint in both domestic and international markets.
Unveiled in New Delhi, the 2024 Magnite aligns with Nissan’s ‘The Arc’ plan to position India as a significant manufacturing and export hub. Its growing popularity has enabled the company to expand into new global territories.
Frank Torres, Divisional Vice President for the AMIEO Region and President of Nissan India Operations, remarked, “The Magnite has seen robust demand since its introduction in 2020. Our strategy balances local and export markets, with India playing a pivotal role in Nissan’s global growth. The export of the new Magnite underscores India’s importance as an export hub and reinforces our presence in the AMIEO region.” Jordi Vila, President of Nissan Africa, added, “We are excited to welcome the new Magnite to South Africa. Its updated design and features cater to diverse customer preferences across African markets.”
The revamped Magnite boasts a modernized exterior and interior, enhanced safety systems, including six airbags, Electronic Stability Control, Traction Control System, and Hydraulic Brake Assist. Additionally, it offers over 20 unique features in its segment, underlining its commitment to safety, innovation, and global quality standards.
