Nidec OKK Corporation has announced the launch of a new multi-level pallet stocker, designed to enhance space efficiency and automation in manufacturing processes. This innovative system will be showcased alongside the five-axis vertical machining center VB-X350 at the AMB 2024 exhibition in Stuttgart, Germany, from September 10 to 14.

The multi-level pallet stocker is engineered to address the needs for automation and labor savings in the production of diverse products, including electric vehicles (EVs), semiconductor equipment, and electronic components. This new system integrates a high-speed five-axis machining center with a pallet stocker capable of automatically handling work pieces, offering a solution for limited-lot production.

The pallet stocker is built on a concept of “space-efficient, easy operations,” allowing it to be implemented in various production environments. Its stereoscopic (vertical stacking) design and compact layout for the automatic pallet changing device provide high space efficiency. The system supports a range of pallet rack configurations, from a minimum of 16 pallets to a maximum of 28 pallets, using compact components to optimize space usage.

User-friendly features include a control board with an intuitive screen and an operation program for tasks such as entering work manuals and managing machining schedules. These features are designed to reduce the operator’s workload and facilitate night-time autonomous operation, thereby improving overall productivity and reducing labor hours.

Nidec OKK continues to focus on developing cutting-edge machinery and peripheral equipment to meet the demands for automation and labor efficiency in manufacturing. Established in Kyoto, Japan in 1973, Nidec has evolved into a global leader in motor manufacturing, with over 300 subsidiaries and more than 100,000 employees worldwide. The company’s products are utilized in various sectors, including electronics, automotive, and industrial automation.
