Nidec India Commences Construction of Third Manufacturing Facility in Neemrana

Nidec India Private Limited, a subsidiary of Nidec Corporation, has initiated the construction of its third manufacturing plant in Neemrana, Rajasthan. This expansion reflects Nidec Corporation’s confidence in India’s growth potential and involves an investment of approximately ₹450 crore.

The new facility is slated to commence operations by September 2026 and will produce advanced automotive components, including electric power steering motors, park lock actuators, electric water pumps, electric oil pumps, and BLDC engine cooling fan motors. This development aims to meet the increasing demand in India’s automotive sector.

Keiji Oshima, Managing Director of Nidec India, stated, “It showcases the confidence of Nidec Japan in India. We have steadily expanded our business in India, from motors for the automotive sector to white goods and now to manufacture specifically automotive components.”

This initiative aligns with Nidec’s broader strategy to enhance its manufacturing capabilities in India, reinforcing the country’s position as a strategic hub in the company’s global operations.The expansion is expected to contribute significantly to the local economy and employment.

Nidec India Private Limited, a wholly owned subsidiary of Japan’s Nidec Corporation, is a key player in India’s advanced manufacturing sector. Established in 2016, the company operates a state-of-the-art facility in Neemrana, Rajasthan, within the Japanese Industrial Zone.

This strategic location underscores Nidec’s commitment to India’s growth potential and its role as a global manufacturing hub. The Neemrana plant specializes in producing a diverse range of products, including automotive motors, home appliance motors, commercial and industrial motors, and drive motors for electric motorcycles. In December 2023, Nidec India inaugurated the second building of its Neemrana factory, expanding its capacity to manufacture drive motors for electric bikes with outputs of 30kW or less. This expansion aligns with the global surge in electric two-wheeler demand, positioning Nidec to meet the evolving needs of the electric mobility sector.

Looking ahead, Nidec India is set to launch its third manufacturing plant in Neemrana, with an investment of ₹450 crore. Scheduled to commence operations by September 2026, this facility will focus on advanced automotive components, including electric power steering motors, park lock actuators, and BLDC engine cooling fan motors. This expansion reflects Nidec’s strategic vision and responsiveness to market demands.

Beyond its manufacturing prowess, Nidec India is committed to sustainability and innovation. The company is investing in a $55 million Motion and Energy campus in Hubli-Dharwad, aiming for carbon neutrality by 2027. Additionally, Nidec Advance Technology India Private Limited, established in Bangalore, focuses on software development for inspection systems, further enhancing Nidec’s technological capabilities. Nidec India’s strategic expansions, technological advancements, and commitment to sustainability underscore its pivotal role in shaping India’s manufacturing landscape and contributing to the global transition towards electric mobility.
