NexGen Energia, a sustainable energy solutions company, recently announced its plans to invest a substantial amount of Rs 1,000 crore in establishing a new manufacturing facility dedicated to electric vehicles (EVs) in the region of Jammu and Kashmir.

NexGen Energia is a leading renewable energy company dedicated to providing sustainable energy solutions. Established in 2008, NexGen Energia has emerged as a key player in the renewable energy sector, with a focus on solar and wind power projects. The company is committed to reducing carbon emissions and promoting environmental sustainability through its innovative energy solutions.

NexGen Energia’s projects are designed to harness the power of nature and provide clean, reliable energy to communities and businesses around the world. With a strong emphasis on technology and innovation, NexGen Energia is driving the transition to a more sustainable energy future.

The firm, headquartered in Noida, is currently engaged in discussions with local authorities in the Union Territory and actively searching for a suitable 100-acre plot, considering locations such as the Kathua industrial area or the picturesque Kashmir Valley. This strategic decision follows closely on the heels of NexGen Energia’s earlier commitment to invest Rs 3,000 crore in the development of a cutting-edge Compressed Biogas (CBG) plant in Gujarat.

In addition to the ‘Make in India’ initiative, we are actively contributing to the realization of a self-reliant India. NexGen Energia, under the leadership of chairman Piyush Dwivedi, is set to establish an electric vehicle (EV) manufacturing plant in Jammu and Kashmir, in partnership with the government, with a planned investment of Rs 1,000 crore.

This strategic move is poised to generate significant employment opportunities, both directly and indirectly, benefiting approximately 1 lakh individuals. Furthermore, NexGen Energia is gearing up to unveil its most economical electric two-wheeler, priced at just Rs 36,900, from its Noida facility on April 15.

Dwivedi recently engaged with Union Minister for Road Transport and Highways, Nitin Gadkari, to discuss the company’s sustainable energy proposals, which include enhancing the utilization of Compressed Biogas (CBG) and promoting domestically manufactured EVs. The company is primed to introduce a variety of EVs, including two-wheelers and three-wheelers, with plans to expand its portfolio to include electric buses, trucks, and cars in the future.
