NeoSky India Ltd, a wholly owned unit of RattanIndia Enterprises, has strengthened its role in public safety through a major drone deployment initiative in Karnataka. The company recently supplied surveillance drones to the Kalaburagi district administration, with plans underway to deliver an additional 60 units of its Tavas drone to the state police force.

Tavas is a compact, foldable UAV designed for security operations. It features modular payload capability and advanced obstacle detection using LiDAR sensors. The drones are part of a larger effort to modernize policing tools and improve emergency response times across the state.

NeoSky has already established strong ties with various government and defense entities including the Indian armed forces, paramilitary units, and regional law enforcement. The Karnataka Police have recently received two advanced drone models to enhance their surveillance capabilities: the Nimble-I, which features 24/7 monitoring, modular payload integration, and AI-powered smart surveillance, and the NS01, a compact micro-drone weighing only 550 grams, specifically designed for efficient daytime reconnaissance.

The formal handover of these drones took place at Vidhana Soudha in the presence of Karnataka’s Home Minister, Gangadharaiah Parameshwara. He emphasized the state’s ambition to provide drone access to every police station, calling the initiative a powerful example of local innovation driving public safety. “These tools will significantly enhance the speed and precision of our security teams,” said Shri Parameshwara. “We aim to make drone access standard across all police units in Karnataka.”

NeoSky has positioned itself as a comprehensive drone solutions provider, with capabilities spanning pilot training, R&D, production, and drone services. The company and its subsidiary TAS are licensed by the Department for Promotion of Industry and Internal Trade (DPIIT) to manufacture drones for defense purposes. They were among the first to receive approval from aviation regulators for Beyond Visual Line of Sight (BVLOS) operations.

NeoSky is also investing heavily in skill development. At the same event, Priyank Kharge, Karnataka’s Minister for IT, Biotechnology, Rural Development, and Panchayat Raj, announced a regional training initiative. Under this, 500 young individuals from Kalaburagi district will receive certified drone pilot training, accredited by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).

“Drone technology is opening new doors in the job market. By skilling our youth in this high-growth sector, we’re building a future-ready workforce rooted in innovation,” said Shri Kharge. The training programme will focus on a broad group of learners, including members of the armed forces, paramilitary units, students from agriculture universities, rural youth, schools, and international trainees.

Speaking about these developments, Anjali Rattan, Chairperson of RattanIndia Enterprises, stated “Supplying 60 Tavas drones is a meaningful step toward creating a safer India. But what’s even more inspiring is enabling 500 youth from North Karnataka to build careers in drone technology.”

RattanIndia Enterprises Ltd, listed on the Indian stock exchange with a market valuation of around ₹7,000 crore, is known for its focus on digital-first, tech-driven ventures. Its portfolio spans electric vehicles (Revolt Motors), online retail (Cocoblu), fashion (Neo Brands), financial services, and drone solutions via NeoSky.
