Nelco Limited, a Tata Group company and a prominent satellite communication service provider in India, has entered into an agreement with Eutelsat (ISIN: FR0010221234), a major global satellite operator, to offer OneWeb low Earth orbit (LEO) satellite connectivity throughout India.
Through this partnership, Nelco will collaborate with OneWeb India Communications, Eutelsat’s local subsidiary, to provide secure, low-latency LEO-based internet services for users on land, at sea, and in the air. The service will cover India’s landmass, territorial waters, and remote locations, supporting a broad spectrum of secure government and enterprise needs.
This development aims to boost India’s digital infrastructure and national security while ensuring dependable connectivity in hard-to-reach areas. Nelco is well-positioned to begin offering these services to customers once OneWeb’s LEO network is commercially operational in India.
