As part of its cleanliness drive, Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL) has identified 69 sites for cleaning and beautification, with 23 of these already completed. The company has also made significant headway in scrap disposal, having cleared 1,661 metric tonnes of scrap out of a targeted 2,180 metric tonnes. These efforts highlight NCL’s strong commitment to cleanliness and waste reduction.

Leading the Way in Solar Energy: A Step Towards Clean Power

In its ongoing efforts to promote environmental sustainability, Northern Coalfields Limited (NCL) is making significant progress in renewable energy. The company has successfully installed a 480 kW rooftop solar plant at its Jayant project and is further expanding its solar capacity with 1.3 MW rooftop solar systems at IWSS Khadia, Bina, and Kakri areas. These solar initiatives not only help reduce NCL’s carbon footprint but also contribute to India’s renewable energy goals.

Advancing Health and Hygiene: Sanitary Napkin Vending Machines

NCL is actively working to improve the health and hygiene of young women in the Singrauli region. In support of this, the company has installed Sanitary Napkin Vending and Disposal Machines in four schools as part of Special Campaign 4.0. This effort benefits approximately 1,850 female students by providing easy access to sanitary products, thereby fostering better menstrual health and hygiene practices.

Turning Waste into Wealth: Eco-Friendly Composting Initiative

Under its “Waste to Wealth” program, NCL is championing sustainable waste management by establishing vermicomposting beds. By converting cow dung and organic waste into nutrient-rich vermicompost, the company is supporting eco-friendly farming practices in Birkunia and Khirwa villages. This initiative offers a natural alternative to chemical fertilizers, helping to improve soil fertility while reducing environmental impact.

Focus on Cleanliness and Zero Pendency

As part of its commitment to cleanliness, NCL has identified 69 sites for cleaning and beautification, with 23 of them already completed. The company has also made notable progress in scrap disposal, having cleared 1,661 metric tonnes of scrap out of a targeted 2,180 metric tonnes. Enhancing Office Efficiency: Record and Space Management

NCL is improving office efficiency through robust record and space management systems. So far, 400 old files have been relocated to record rooms, and 3,729 e-files along with 207 physical files have been reviewed. This initiative has contributed to better space utilization and streamlined operations within the company.

Resolving Public Grievances

Committed to addressing public concerns, NCL has successfully resolved 30 out of 37 grievances received during Special Campaign 4.0. The company’s focus on prompt grievance redressal reflects its dedication to public satisfaction and responsive governance. By actively participating in Special Campaign 4.0, NCL is playing a key role in promoting a cleaner, greener, and more sustainable future for the nation.
