National Engineering Industries Ltd (NEI), part of the CK Birla Group and maker of the trusted NBC Bearings brand, has announced the publication of Environmental Product Declarations (EPDs) for eight of its bearing types. This achievement reinforces NBC’s commitment to environmental transparency and responsible manufacturing.
EPDs are independently verified reports that detail the environmental footprint of a product across its entire life cycle—from raw material sourcing and production to usage and end-of-life disposal. NBC’s declarations have been developed according to international standards such as ISO 14025 and EN 15804, and are registered under the globally recognized International EPD® System.
This move strengthens NBC Bearings’ leadership in sustainable engineering and supports global customers in meeting ESG targets and Scope 3 emission reporting. By offering transparent, verified environmental data, NBC becomes one of the few bearing manufacturers worldwide to help industrial buyers make informed, eco-conscious decisions.

NBC’s broader environmental strategy includes shifting toward renewable energy, boosting plant efficiency, promoting sustainable logistics, and advancing circular economy practices such as bearing remanufacturing.
