Nash Energy, India’s leading mass-scale manufacturer of Lithium Iron Phosphate (LFP) cells, has joined forces with US-based Rincell Corporation, a developer of next-generation rechargeable battery technologies, to produce advanced Nickel Manganese Cobalt (NMC) cells domestically. This partnership represents a key milestone in bolstering India’s clean energy infrastructure and electric vehicle ecosystem.
Nash Energy has established itself as a trailblazer by launching the country’s first large-scale LFP cell manufacturing plant in Bengaluru and serves over 15 Indian and international clients. The company plans to expand production capacity to approximately 10 GWh in phases, aligned with market demand and confirmed orders.
Through the agreement, Rincell will provide its state-of-the-art NMC cell technology to Nash Energy, which will then develop a local manufacturing facility dedicated to producing these high-performance batteries. Nash Energy will also spearhead market entry and commercial rollout efforts within India.
Initial production will focus on Rincell’s versatile battery formats, including the 18650 (4.1Ah), 21700 (5.8Ah), and NMC cells offering capacities of 5Ah (5C rate) and 4Ah (8C rate). These designs will be customized to meet the requirements of a broad customer base.
The two companies plan to engage closely with Tier-1 and Tier-2 clients to fulfill existing orders and jointly explore future battery innovations. The collaboration aims to serve critical industries such as drones, defense, aerospace, and electric mobility, responding to the increasing demand for dependable and locally produced battery solutions.
Sanjay S Wadhwa, Managing Director of Nash Energy, stated “We are excited to collaborate with Rincell to bring advanced battery technology to India. This partnership will accelerate clean energy adoption and support the growth of electric transportation across the nation.”
Jignesh Parikh, Co-Founder and CEO of Rincell Corporation, remarked “This alliance combines Rincell’s cutting-edge technology with Nash Energy’s local manufacturing expertise, unlocking new opportunities to serve India’s fast-expanding energy market as well as international customers.”
Both companies will continue evolving their technology roadmap based on customer insights to maintain leadership in battery innovation. Nash Energy, part of the NASH Group, is India’s first large-scale manufacturer of LFP battery cells, operating a 600 MWh capacity facility in Bengaluru.
The company leads the way in renewable energy and energy storage solutions, focusing on making India self-sufficient in battery manufacturing. Nash Energy also runs an R&D center in Japan to support ongoing innovation.
Rincell Corporation, headquartered in the United States, was founded with the mission to accelerate electrification and promote sustainability by developing advanced battery technologies. The company specializes in producing Silicon-Graphite and Sodium-ion batteries for government and commercial sectors, with manufacturing based in the US and allied countries to ensure supply chain security.
