National Aluminium Company Limited (NALCO), a Navratna CPSE under the Ministry of Mines, Government of India, has launched a new IA91 Grade aluminium alloy ingot designed for high-performance casting applications. The product was formally introduced at NALCO’s Kolkata Stockyard by Anil Kumar Singh, Director (Commercial), in the presence of senior company officials.

IA91 is a silicon-based aluminium casting alloy developed to deliver a balanced combination of castability, mechanical strength and corrosion resistance. The alloy is suited for gravity die casting and low-pressure die casting processes and is expected to support a wide range of industrial applications, including automotive components, electrical and power equipment, and general engineering products manufactured by foundries.

The launch marks another step in NALCO’s strategy to expand its portfolio of value-added aluminium products for domestic and international markets. With demand for specialised alloys growing across sectors such as transportation, infrastructure and industrial manufacturing, IA91 is positioned to meet the requirements of customers seeking reliable performance and consistent quality in casting operations.

Speaking on the occasion, Brijendra Pratap Singh, Chairman and Managing Director of NALCO, congratulated the production and marketing teams for bringing the new product to market. He noted that expanding the company’s alloy range reflects its continued focus on innovation, customer needs and quality manufacturing.

NALCO is one of India’s leading producers of alumina and aluminium, with integrated operations spanning mining, refining, smelting and downstream manufacturing. The company has built a strong reputation for delivering high-quality metal products to industries across India and overseas. By investing in research, process improvement and product development, NALCO aims to support the evolving requirements of sectors such as automotive, electrical equipment, construction and industrial engineering.

The introduction of IA91 Grade alloy ingot highlights NALCO’s commitment to strengthening India’s manufacturing ecosystem by offering advanced materials that improve efficiency, durability and performance in casting applications. As industries move toward lighter, more efficient and corrosion-resistant components, NALCO continues to focus on developing alloys that align with modern engineering and production standards.
