Musashi Seimitsu Industry Co., Ltd, the parent company of Musashi India and a key manufacturer of two- and four-wheeler transmission components, has entered into a strategic partnership with Log9 Materials, an innovator in advanced battery technology.
This collaboration aims to transform the electric vehicle (EV) sector by merging Musashi’s high-performance e-Axle system with Log9’s cutting-edge battery technology, creating a seamless powertrain solution for electric two- and three-wheelers. The partnership addresses key challenges in EV energy management, scalability, and service reliability, aiming to enhance both performance and durability.
By integrating battery packs with e-Axles, the partnership seeks to minimize energy losses seen in traditional powertrains, extending range and improving vehicle performance, particularly in congested urban settings. Targeting Original Equipment Manufacturers (OEMs), the collaboration is set to establish new standards for efficiency and innovation in the EV space, with a focus on both Indian and global markets.
Musashi’s President and Group CEO, Hiroshi Otsuka, commented, “This partnership is a crucial step in our mission to redefine electric mobility. By working with Log9, we are committed to delivering a robust, high-performance solution tailored to electric two- and three-wheelers. Our aim is to address gaps in the market, creating an integrated system that boosts energy efficiency, enhances battery and drivetrain synergy, and sets new benchmarks for sustainability and innovation.”
A key feature of this alliance is the introduction of a centralized service model for the integrated battery and e-Axle systems, which will reduce repair time and improve customer satisfaction by speeding up service turnaround. By setting new benchmarks in powertrain development, Musashi and Log9 are working to make electric mobility more efficient and accessible, particularly in markets like India and Southeast Asia, where two- and three-wheelers are vital for transportation and last-mile delivery services.
The partnership’s reach extends beyond India, with plans to enter global markets, including Southeast Asia and Africa, supported by a strong after-sales service network in key Indian cities. Musashi’s entry into the EV space aligns with its long-term strategy of driving innovation and contributing to global carbon emission reduction efforts. This collaboration is positioned to accelerate EV adoption by offering high-performance solutions that support the shift towards sustainable transportation.
