Mobility Solutions Limited (MSL), a subsidiary of the JCBL Group, has expanded its manufacturing facility in Batauli, Punjab, to broaden its market reach across various industries with cutting-edge composites solutions. Covering 41,700 square meters with a 12,000 square meter covered area, the upgraded facility moves beyond its traditional focus on Glass-Reinforced Plastic (GRP) production, now offering advanced composite solutions for sectors such as railways, automotive, defense, aerospace, and infrastructure. This expansion marks a key milestone for MSL, underscoring its commitment to innovation, sustainability, and economic growth. Commercial production at the upgraded plant began in December 2024, with full operational capacity expected by July 2025.

Originally established in 2004 to serve captive needs, the Batauli facility has evolved into a hub for advanced composites, supplying metro projects, railways, and international clients like Alstom and Wabtec. The strategic location of the plant, near other JCBL Group manufacturing sites, provides access to a skilled workforce and efficient transportation networks. Currently employing over 150 people, the facility plans to expand and introduce new product lines, contributing to local economic growth and national development.

The Batauli plant will play a pivotal role in broadening MSL’s product portfolio, targeting key sectors such as railways, automotive, defense, aerospace, and infrastructure. With an emphasis on innovation, the facility will establish a Centre of Excellence that integrates research and development, prototyping, tooling, manufacturing, and testing, all under one roof. This comprehensive setup will allow MSL to streamline its processes and accelerate the development of advanced composite solutions tailored to the needs of these industries.

To meet the growing demand in both domestic and international markets, the plant aims to triple its production capacity. This expansion will not only help MSL scale its operations but also enable the company to deliver lightweight, durable, and low-maintenance composite solutions that support sustainability efforts. By focusing on environmentally-friendly and efficient manufacturing, MSL is positioning itself as a leader in providing high-performance materials that contribute to both technological advancement and environmental responsibility.

The facility also incorporates eco-friendly initiatives, including renewable energy systems, water conservation methods, and waste reduction programs. A solar energy system is being developed to further promote sustainability. These green practices align with MSL’s broader commitment to minimizing its environmental footprint and supporting global sustainability goals.

R.G. Arora, Managing Director of MSL, commented, “This expansion represents a major leap forward for MSL in delivering advanced composite solutions across high-tech industries. It not only strengthens our manufacturing capabilities but also highlights our dedication to innovation, sustainability, and contributing to regional economic growth.”

With this expanded facility, MSL reinforces its position as a leader in the composites manufacturing sector, targeting emerging opportunities in public transport, defense, aerospace, infrastructure, and agriculture. The company is focused on driving innovation, improving competitiveness, and delivering outstanding value to customers.
