Motherson, a global leader in engineering, manufacturing, and assembly, has entered a strategic partnership with Sanko Japan, a top provider of material handling solutions, including sustainable packaging. This joint venture aligns with Motherson’s mission to become a preferred global provider of sustainable solutions. By focusing on reusable and eco-friendly packaging, the collaboration supports Motherson’s commitment to decarbonization and environmental responsibility.
Founded in 1951, Sanko is Japan’s top manufacturer of plastic material handling products and a leader in the sustainable packaging sector. With a strong engineering base and an in-house technical center, Sanko develops products that are built for durability, reusability, and full recyclability, catering to a variety of industries.
The new venture will help improve efficiencies in material handling, reduce logistics costs, and deliver innovative solutions for both the automotive and non-automotive industries. By combining Sanko’s expertise and Motherson’s extensive footprint in India and Europe, the partnership aims to offer cutting-edge, sustainable packaging solutions globally.
Vivek Chaand Sehgal, Chairman of Motherson, commented, “This collaboration with Sanko represents a strategic diversification for our group. By rethinking packaging as a sophisticated engineering solution rather than a commodity, we can drive efficiencies in logistics and support our customers’ sustainability goals.” Mr. Toshihiko Goto, President of Sanko, added, “We are thrilled to partner with Motherson. This alliance will allow us to leverage Motherson’s global presence and our extensive experience to bring greater value to our customers and expand our business globally.”
