Motherson, through its joint venture Samvardhana Motherson Hamakyorex Engineered Logistics Limited (SAMRX), has signed an agreement with Dighi Port Limited (DPL), a subsidiary of Adani Ports and Special Economic Zone Ltd (APSEZ), to set up a dedicated roll-on/roll-off (RoRo) terminal at Dighi Port in Maharashtra. The partnership aims to create a modern facility designed to manage the complete logistics cycle for finished vehicles. Located on India’s western coastline with strong multimodal connectivity, the terminal will support both export and import operations for major automotive manufacturers.
SAMRX will invest in the facility in stages, giving the terminal an initial capacity to handle around 200,000 vehicles annually, with room for expansion. The project is intended to offer an integrated logistics model with full cargo tracking and value-added services, including yard management, AI-enabled pre-delivery inspection systems, EV charging, customs support, and stevedoring.
