MOIL Ltd, the state-owned manganese ore producer, announced its highest-ever production and sales for January in FY25. The company produced 1.6 lakh tonnes of manganese ore, with sales reaching 1.57 lakh tonnes, reflecting a 17% increase compared to the same period last year. Additionally, exploratory core drilling for January reached 11,099 meters, marking a 10% rise from the previous year.
For the period from April to January in FY25, MOIL achieved total production of 14.9 lakh tonnes, up 4% year-on-year. Sales for the same period reached 12.96 lakh tonnes, showing a 5% growth, while exploratory drilling totaled 83,439 meters, an increase of 17.6%. Ajit Kumar Saxena, CMD of MOIL, highlighted the company’s dedication to operational excellence and expressed confidence that the company will maintain this momentum in the coming months.
In January 2025, MOIL also revised its manganese ore prices. The prices for all ferro grades with manganese content of Mn-44% and above saw a 1% increase, while other ferro grades with manganese content below Mn-44% experienced a 5% hike.
The prices for silico manganese grades and chemical grades also saw a 5% increase. The basic price for electrolytic manganese dioxide (EMD) remains unchanged at ₹205,000 per metric tonne for January.
