The Ministry of New & Renewable Energy (MNRE) has granted provisional enlistment to additional solar PV module models from two companies under its Approved List of Models and Manufacturers (ALMM) List-1. This development follows the MNRE’s directive dated May 10, 2023.
Vikram Solar Limited, based in the Falta Special Economic Zone in West Bengal, has been provisionally enlisted for two extra solar PV module models. This provisional status allows Vikram Solar to advance these models within the ALMM List-1 framework, though final approval will be determined at a later date.
The ultimate confirmation of enlistment will hinge on the company’s adherence to all stipulated conditions and guidelines outlined in the ALMM Order, and will be subject to further government review. The company boasts an applied capacity of 1,500 MW annually.
It is crucial to emphasize that neither the MNRE, the National Institute of Solar Energy (NISE), nor their officials bear responsibility for any complications or issues that may arise if these models fail to achieve final enlistment. Similarly, Novasys Greenergy Private Limited, headquartered in Nagpur, Maharashtra, has also been granted provisional enlistment for six additional solar PV module models.
As with Vikram Solar, the final confirmation of these models’ status will be dependent on the company’s fulfillment of all required conditions and subsequent government scrutiny. Novasys Greenergy holds an applied capacity of 500 MW per year. The MNRE, NISE, and their representatives disclaim any liability for potential losses or problems related to these models if they do not secure final enlistment.
Both companies are expected to meet all ALMM guidelines and directives to ensure final enlistment. While provisional enlistment enables these firms to proceed with the inclusion of their models in the ALMM List-1, they must adhere to the established conditions and undergo comprehensive government evaluations to achieve full and final approval.
The Ministry of New and Renewable Energy (MNRE) is responsible for the development and promotion of renewable energy sources. It focuses on harnessing alternative energy technologies like solar, wind, and biomass to reduce dependence on fossil fuels, combat climate change, and support sustainable development in India.
