Microsoft has recently launched a new initiative focused on empowering 100,000 developers in India with expertise in cutting-edge AI technologies and tools. This program provides a holistic learning opportunity, enabling developers to gain and showcase essential skills necessary for executing pivotal AI-driven projects that harmonize with business objectives and deliver tangible results.
Microsoft traded on the Nasdaq as “MSFT” under @microsoft, facilitates the shift to a digital landscape driven by an intelligent cloud and edge. Their goal is to empower individuals and entities worldwide to accomplish more. In 1990, Microsoft established its presence in India. Presently, its various entities across 10 Indian cities – Ahmedabad, Bengaluru, Chennai, New Delhi, Gurugram, Hyderabad, Kolkata, Mumbai, Noida, and Pune – employ over 20,000 individuals. These teams focus on sales, marketing, research, development, customer support, and tailored solutions for various industries. Leveraging local data centers, Microsoft extends its global cloud services to expedite the digital evolution of Indian startups, enterprises, and governmental bodies.
“With AI revolutionizing the way we work and live, India needs a skilled workforce that can use AI to solve complex problems and create value. Through programs like AI Odyssey, Microsoft is offering opportunities for developers to build solutions for India’s growth and showcase their talent to solve real-world problems,” Microsoft said in a statement. Enrollment for the AI Odyssey is essential for developers, requiring registration via aka.ms/AIOdyssey to unlock an array of learning modules and abundant resources. This comprehensive month-long initiative welcomes AI enthusiasts across India, irrespective of their background or level of expertise, fostering inclusivity and accessibility. Comprising two distinct tiers, participants are tasked with completing both levels by January 31, 2024.
The initial phase of the program is dedicated to equipping participants with the proficiency to leverage Azure AI services effectively. Its primary focus lies in empowering individuals to craft and implement AI solutions tailored to diverse scenarios. By engaging in this segment, attendees gain access to an assortment of invaluable resources, including code samples and instructional guides. These resources serve as fundamental tools, facilitating the acquisition of practical AI skills essential for real-world applications. Participants in the program are presented with a second-tier challenge wherein they demonstrate their proficiency in AI through the completion of an online assessment comprising interactive laboratory tasks. Successful completion of these tasks grants them the prestigious Microsoft Applied Skills credentials. These credentials serve as tangible proof, verifying their adeptness in employing AI to solve genuine real-world problems.
Completing both challenge levels entitles participants to a unique opportunity: the possibility of securing a coveted VIP Pass for the upcoming Microsoft AI Tour set to unfold in Bangalore on February 8, 2024. This event serves as an immersive platform illuminating the transformative prowess of generative AI, launching its capacity to usher in a new era of creativity, collaborative endeavors, and innovative problem-solving. The AI Tour promises a lineup comprising keynote sessions, live demonstrations, and interactive workshops meticulously crafted to empower developers with insights shared by Microsoft’s foremost experts and collaborators.
Beyond these invaluable sessions, attendees can forge meaningful connections within their professional circles, fostering a vibrant network of like-minded peers passionate about the potential of AI. Irina Ghose, Managing Director, of Microsoft India, said, “AI is the future of innovation and India is leading the way with its tech talent. The Microsoft Applied Skills credential will help developers demonstrate their competence and creativity in the most in-demand AI skills and scenarios. We welcome all developers to join us in creating meaningful AI solutions that will contribute to India’s economy.”
