Microchip Technology Inc has signed a new collaboration agreement with Delta Electronics, a global provider of power and energy management solutions, to integrate Microchip’s silicon carbide (SiC) products into Delta’s system designs. The partnership is aimed at accelerating the development of next-generation power solutions with improved efficiency and sustainability.
As demand rises across industries for reliable, high-performance energy systems—driven by advancements in digital technologies and the shift toward electrification—this alliance will focus on enabling compact, cost-effective designs for high-voltage applications.
“Silicon carbide plays a crucial role in energy-efficient systems due to its unique properties, which allow for smaller, more powerful designs,” said Clayton Pillion, Vice President of Microchip’s High Power Solutions unit. “We’re excited to work closely with Delta to bring advanced SiC technology to a wider range of sectors.”
Delta Electronics, known for its expertise in high-efficiency power electronics, plans to use Microchip’s experience and solutions—including digital control systems—to expand its product offerings in fast-growing areas such as transportation, industrial automation, infrastructure, and computing.
Through this agreement, the two companies will coordinate efforts to validate and integrate Microchip’s mSiC™ product line—ranging from MOSFETs and diodes to gate drivers—into Delta’s future platforms. Additional aspects of the partnership include technical training, collaboration on product development, and early access to new components.
