MIC Electronics Limited, a key player in LED lighting and digital display technologies, has received certification from the Bureau of Indian Standards (BIS) for its LED street lights, interactive flat panels, and visual display units. This recognition marks a significant step in the company’s journey to expand its footprint in India’s smart city and public infrastructure sectors.
With this certification, MIC Electronics is now qualified to participate in a wider range of government tenders, public sector undertakings, and select international contracts. It also reinforces customer confidence in MIC’s product quality and performance, giving the company a competitive advantage in India’s fast-growing markets for LED lighting (valued at $580 million) and interactive display systems (estimated at $1 billion).
The company’s BIS-certified products are fully developed and manufactured in India, offering energy savings of up to 60%. These solutions are already in use across major projects, including installations for Indian Railways, Greater Hyderabad Municipal Corporation (GHMC), and Tirumala Tirupati Devasthanams (TTD). Every 10,000 LED streetlights installed by MIC contribute to annual energy savings of around 2.6 to 2.9 GWh, reducing carbon emissions by more than 2,300 tonnes.
