MetalMandi Surpasses 2 Lakh Downloads, Sets Sights on 5X Growth in Five Years

MetalMandi, the B2B digital scrap trading platform launched by Attero, has surpassed 200,000 downloads across India, marking a significant milestone in its rapid expansion. Building on this momentum, the company has outlined plans to achieve fivefold growth over the next five years as it strengthens its footprint across the country’s scrap and recycling ecosystem.

Introduced in 2025, MetalMandi has already onboarded more than 110,000 registered users. The platform records over 50,000 monthly active users and approximately 4,000 daily active users, with participation spanning more than 28 states and over 100 cities. Each month, it facilitates the procurement of nearly 15,000 metric tonnes of scrap metal, translating into an annualized volume of 150,000 to 200,000 metric tonnes. The company is also targeting annual revenues of ₹10,000 crore within the next five years.

India continues to rely heavily on imports for critical metals such as copper, aluminium, and rare earth elements, despite generating substantial volumes of domestic scrap. Historically, the absence of a structured and transparent supply chain has limited efficient recycling and reuse. MetalMandi aims to address this gap by creating a formalized marketplace that enhances price discovery, reduces dependence on intermediaries, and connects buyers and sellers directly at scale.

The need for such solutions has become more urgent amid ongoing global supply chain disruptions, export restrictions, and growing resource nationalism. By enabling a more organized and transparent ecosystem, MetalMandi contributes to strengthening domestic supply chains and reducing vulnerability to external shocks.

The platform is witnessing strong traction across major industrial hubs including Delhi NCR, Chennai, Mumbai, Pune, and Hyderabad. It provides real-time, market-linked pricing data for scrap materials, improving accuracy and consistency in price discovery across regions. Additionally, it offers structured pricing benchmarks for e-waste, a segment that has traditionally lacked reliable valuation mechanisms.

To further enhance transaction efficiency, MetalMandi has integrated artificial intelligence-driven tools for quality assessment. Using live image detection, the system identifies scrap categories and evaluates material quality in real time, enabling better pricing accuracy and smoother transactions. The company is also preparing to introduce a marketplace model that will facilitate direct interactions between buyers and sellers. Enhanced transparency remains a key focus, with features such as document uploads, geo-tracking, shipment monitoring, and participant verification ensuring end-to-end traceability.

Attero is India’s largest critical minerals company and a global leader in urban mining. The company specializes in extracting valuable materials from e-waste, end-of-life lithium-ion batteries, and magnets using advanced proprietary technologies. Founded in 2008, Attero recovers over 22 critical metals and operates one of the world’s most advanced recycling facilities in Roorkee, Uttarakhand. With a global presence and a strong innovation pipeline supported by numerous patents, Attero continues to drive the development of a circular economy for high-value materials across industries.
