The Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology (MeitY), through its Nanotechnology Initiatives Division, in collaboration with prestigious institutions like IISc Bengaluru, IIT Bombay, IIT Madras, IIT Delhi, IIT Kharagpur, and IIT Guwahati, will organize the Nano Electronics Roadshow and Conference on Semiconductor Ecosystem in India. The event will be held on March 27, 2025, starting at 9:00 AM at the National Science Seminar Complex, IISc Bengaluru.
This event is designed to bring together key players from government, industry, academia, startups, and the venture capital ecosystem to foster collaboration and innovation in the nanoelectronics and semiconductor sectors. Shri S. Krishnan, Secretary of MeitY, will attend as the Chief Guest, with notable figures such as Abhishek Singh, Additional Secretary, MeitY; Dr Shivkumar Kalyanaraman, CEO of Anusandhan National Research Foundation; Utpal Shah, Senior VP at Tata Electronics; Anand Ramamoorthy, Managing Director at Micron; and V. Narayanan, Chair at ISRO, joining as Guests of Honour.
The roadshow will cover a broad spectrum of topics, including quantum technology, neuromorphic computing, AI opportunities, advancements in IT and electronics, and a showcase of domestic innovations in nanoelectronics technology. Shri S. Krishnan, Secretary of MeitY, shared, “The Nano Electronics Roadshow plays a crucial role in India’s journey toward semiconductor self-reliance. MeitY has supported the creation of Nano science centers at six IITs and IISc to build a dedicated team of experts in this field. This event brings together deep-tech startups, technology demonstrations, and industries benefiting from this initiative. We are expecting 50 technology demos, 25 deep-tech startups, 25 venture capital firms, and 25 industries, all coming together to support India’s semiconductor ambitions, aligned with the Prime Minister’s vision of a self-sufficient India through the India Semiconductor Mission (ISM).”
The event will also serve as an opportunity for India’s thriving electronics startup ecosystem to showcase their innovations, engage with venture capital firms, and secure investments to further their growth. As part of India’s Atmanirbhar Bharat initiative, this event underscores the government’s commitment to achieving self-sufficiency in electronics and semiconductor manufacturing. By promoting collaboration between the industry and academia, MeitY aims to create a dynamic ecosystem that supports innovation and sustainable growth in the nanoelectronics sector.
