MeitY Nasscom CoE & IIT Bombay to Transform AI Manufacturing

The MeitY Nasscom Centre of Excellence (CoE), in partnership with the Ministry of Electronics and Information Technology, various state governments, and Nasscom, is set to host the Smart Manufacturing Research Conclave (SMRC) on August 30th in Mumbai.

This pivotal event, a flagship initiative under the Digital India program, is designed to close the gap between cutting-edge research and the practical needs of the manufacturing industry. The conclave aims to create a collaborative platform by gathering a diverse group of participants, including academics, researchers, manufacturers, and students from all corners of India.

Strategic partners such as the Indian Institute of Technology (IIT) Bombay, Startup India, and Pro MFG will play a crucial role in the event, contributing to the rich discussions on the future of smart manufacturing. The conclave will feature an extensive lineup of presentations from approximately 150 researchers, each showcasing their latest advancements in fields such as artificial intelligence (AI), advanced analytics, the Internet of Things (IoT), robotics, and additive manufacturing.

Industry leaders from renowned companies like Pidilite Industries, Aditya Birla Group, Mitsubishi Electric, and Siemens will also be present to share their expertise. They will provide valuable insights into current trends, emerging challenges, and new opportunities within the realm of smart manufacturing.

The event will also spotlight the innovations of leading Indian startups, which will exhibit cutting-edge solutions in AI, operational technology (OT) security, and industrial IoT. Sanjeev Malhotra, CEO of MeitY Nasscom CoE, has underscored the significance of this conclave as a major milestone in advancing the digital transformation of India’s manufacturing sector.

He emphasized that this initiative is a crucial step toward embracing Industry 4.0, driven by innovative research and collaborative efforts.
