MEDAS EnggDesign Pvt Ltd (MEDAS), a prominent EPC firm in the distillery, brewery, and food processing sectors, has secured a major order from NSL Sugars Ltd, one of India’s leading sugar producers. The contract covers NSL Sugars’ Jay Mahesh Unit in Mazalgaon, Beed district, Maharashtra, where MEDAS will deliver technology, engineering, and equipment for a new 500,000 liters-per-day ethanol plant.

The facility will run on multiple feedstocks, including sugarcane syrup and grains, aligning with the Government of India’s National Biofuel Policy. Designed with MEDAS’s advanced technology, the plant will feature low-pressure distillation for increased power generation and an energy-efficient evaporation system that reuses vapors from sugar and dryers. This integrated setup is expected to reduce energy consumption while maximizing production output.

Since its incorporation in 2018, MEDAS has executed several large-scale distillery projects across India, including a 423,000 LPD plant in Karnataka and a 125,000 LPD plant in North India. “We are proud to partner with NSL Sugars on this landmark project, which further validates our engineering and execution capabilities,” said Abhay Chaudhari, Managing Director, MEDAS EnggDesign Pvt Ltd. Project work is already in progress, with notable milestones achieved within a short timeframe.
