Matador Resources Company has announced a series of strategic agreements with affiliates of Energy Transfer LP designed to enhance the value of its natural gas and natural gas liquids production while improving market access from the Permian Basin. The agreements include a new natural gas supply arrangement as well as multiple natural gas liquids (NGL) marketing contracts that will allow Energy Transfer affiliates to purchase and handle NGL volumes produced from several of Matador’s operations in the Delaware Basin. The transactions form part of Matador’s ongoing efforts to strengthen flow assurance, diversify marketing channels, and improve realized pricing for its hydrocarbon production.
The latest agreements build on Matador’s previously announced transportation arrangements involving Energy Transfer’s Hugh Brinson Pipeline. In late 2025, the company secured firm transportation capacity of 500,000 MMBtu per day on the pipeline, providing a pathway to move natural gas from the Permian Basin to premium demand centers where pricing has historically exceeded levels available at the Waha Hub.
The newly announced gas supply agreement is expected to provide an interim solution before the transportation contract becomes operational. By creating additional marketing flexibility during the second half of 2026, the arrangement is anticipated to reduce Matador’s exposure to regional pricing volatility while supporting stronger realized gas prices.
The agreement also aligns with increasing natural gas demand from power generation markets and large-scale data center developments supporting artificial intelligence applications. As energy consumption requirements continue to grow across these sectors, reliable gas supply arrangements are becoming increasingly important to infrastructure operators and energy consumers.
Joseph Wm. Foran, Founder, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer of Matador Resources Company, said, “We are pleased to expand our collaboration with Energy Transfer through a series of agreements that support our long-term marketing strategy. These arrangements provide additional opportunities to enhance pricing, improve flow assurance, and strengthen market access for our production. We appreciate Energy Transfer’s partnership and look forward to the future benefits associated with the Hugh Brinson Pipeline.”
Matador’s marketing initiatives form part of a broader strategy focused on maximizing returns from its resource base while maintaining operational flexibility. The company continues to evaluate transportation, processing, and marketing opportunities that can improve commodity realization and support sustainable growth.
