Maruti Suzuki India Limited has announced that its Eeco van has crossed the 15 lakh cumulative sales milestone in India, reinforcing its position in the country’s van segment. Launched in January 2010 and developed specifically for the Indian market, Eeco has become a popular choice among families, entrepreneurs, businesses and institutions. Its combination of space, practicality and versatility has enabled it to serve a wide range of transportation needs.

The Eeco’s sales growth has accelerated over the years. The model took eight years to reach its first 5 lakh sales. The next 5 lakh units were sold in less than five years, while the latest 5 lakh units were achieved in just three-and-a-half years, making this the fastest 5 lakh sales milestone in the vehicle’s journey.

Partho Banerjee, Senior Executive Officer, Marketing & Sales, Maruti Suzuki India Limited, said the 15 lakh milestone reflects the trust customers have placed in Eeco. He said the vehicle has served different customer groups, from families seeking affordable mobility to entrepreneurs using it for their businesses and institutions relying on it for essential services.

The Eeco has a strong presence in rural India. About 65% of its sales came from rural markets in FY2025-26. First-time buyers account for 55% of its customers, while more than 51% of customers are business owners. Eeco is available in 13 variants covering 5-seater and 6-seater passenger models, Tour V, Ambulance and Cargo versions. Customers can choose between petrol and S-CNG powertrains, allowing the vehicle to serve family travel, tourism, cargo transportation, business needs and essential services.

The latest Eeco is powered by a 1.2-litre Advanced K-Series Dual Jet, Dual VVT petrol engine. It delivers fuel efficiency of 19.71 km/l in petrol and 26.78 km/kg in S-CNG. S-CNG adoption has increased significantly, with its share of Eeco sales rising from 12% in FY2019-20 to 48% in FY2025-26.

Maruti Suzuki has also upgraded the vehicle’s safety and comfort features. The 2026 Eeco comes with six airbags as standard, Electronic Stability Program, ABS with EBD, reverse parking sensors, three-point ELR seatbelts for all seats, seatbelt reminders, a speed alert system and side-impact beams.

Comfort features include a digital instrument cluster, air conditioning, HVAC controls, a dome lamp with battery saver function and reclining front seats. To mark the 15 lakh sales milestone, Maruti Suzuki has introduced the Eeco Star Edition. The special edition gets 18 exterior and interior accessories, along with body-coloured bumpers, giving the van a more premium and stylish appearance. The milestone highlights Eeco’s continued role as a versatile mobility solution for both personal and commercial users across India.
