Jungheinrich, a leading provider of sustainable material handling solutions, has announced the appointment of Manojit Acharya as Vice President for the Asia-Pacific (APAC) region, effective immediately. With over 25 years of experience in the industrial and material handling sectors, Mr Acharya brings a wealth of expertise in strategic leadership, market growth, and deep understanding of the diverse APAC market.

Over the past decade, he has played a pivotal role in expanding Jungheinrich India, significantly increasing its size and profitability. Since 2022, he has also managed the Sub Region South Asia, including Thailand and the distributor network, contributing to strong regional performance.

Mr Acharya succeeds Stefan Brehm, who, after six impactful years leading the APAC region, is returning to Europe to oversee Jungheinrich’s DACH & North-East Europe region. “I am proud of the solid foundation we’ve built across APAC and confident that Manojit’s leadership will drive the next phase of growth and success in the region,” said Stefan Brehm, Vice President DACH & North-East Europe.

This leadership change comes as part of Jungheinrich’s Strategy 2030+, which aims to reach €10 billion in global revenue by 2030. The plan focuses on strategic growth in North America and the APAC region, with a strong emphasis on meeting customer demands in automation, expanding the product portfolio with mid-tech industrial trucks, and improving productivity and efficiency. The APAC market is central to this growth strategy, and Acharya’s extensive regional experience positions him perfectly to execute these plans.

“Manojit’s deep knowledge of the APAC market, his track record in scaling operations, and his ability to drive profitable growth make him the ideal leader to execute our aggressive growth strategy in the region,” said Nadine Despineux, Member of the Board of Management, Sales at Jungheinrich. “Under Manojit’s leadership, we will continue to expand our market presence, pursue strategic acquisitions, and explore new market opportunities across APAC.”

“I’m honored to lead Jungheinrich’s efforts in the Asia-Pacific region at such an exciting time,” said Mr Acharya. “Our Strategy 2030+ outlines clear goals: strengthening customer and distributor partnerships, delivering cutting-edge automation solutions, expanding our product offerings, and ensuring sustainability in material handling. The APAC region presents immense growth potential, and I’m eager to advance these strategic priorities with our talented teams and partners, driving success and sustainability with our energy-efficient solutions.”

This announcement follows the recent strategic partnership between Jungheinrich and EP Equipment to expand their product portfolio with the new Mid-Tech brand, AntOn by Jungheinrich. This collaboration aims to leverage the strengths of both companies to provide innovative electric forklift solutions, tailored to meet the evolving needs of the Mid-Tech segment.
