MAN Industries has recently announced the successful completion of pipe testing for secure hydrogen conveyance, signifying a significant achievement. This important milestone for MAN Industries was accomplished in Italy by RINA Consulting – Centro Sviluppo Materiali S.p.A., affirming the sector’s leadership in ensuring the safe and efficient transportation of hydrogen.

MAN Industries stands as one of the prominent entities in the pipeline and infrastructure domain, renowned for its pioneering solutions and steadfast commitment to excellence. With a global footprint, the company specializes in manufacturing and supplying high-quality pipes catering to diverse sectors including oil, gas, water, and infrastructure development. Implementing cutting-edge technology and stringent quality control measures, MAN Industries ensures the production of robust and reliable pipelines that adhere to international standards. Emphasizing innovation and sustainability, the company’s expertise extends to specialized segments like transportation of oil, and gas, and emerging sectors like hydrogen, reaffirming its position as an industry leader in driving efficiency, safety, and reliability in vital energy transportation networks.

Recognizing hydrogen’s pivotal role in cutting carbon emissions across industries and fostering a cleaner energy infrastructure, there’s a key challenge in establishing a hydrogen-centric system: efficiently transporting hydrogen gas to its intended destinations. Hydrogen holds the potential to convert surplus solar and wind energy into readily available electricity and fuel vehicles powered by emission-free fuel cells, unlocking the promise of renewable energy sources. Ensuring both the stability of the structure and the safety of the organization’s hydrogen transport pipes is ensured through the Hydrogen Service test certification. This certification holds particular significance due to the challenge posed by the small size of hydrogen molecules, making their permeation through materials a complex issue.

Nikhil Mansukhani, Managing Director at MAN Industries, conveyed appreciation for the achievement, highlighting how the successful test showcased the company’s commitment to both sustainability and innovation. He emphasized that obtaining certification for safe Hydrogen transportation marks a significant stride toward achieving zero emissions and securing energy independence. The collaboration between the Hydrogen Council and the International Hydrogen Trade Forum (IHTF) stands as a testament to the global dedication towards harnessing the game-changing capabilities of hydrogen.

Participating in this initiative are governments such as Australia, Brazil, Canada, Chile, Germany, Japan, Saudi Arabia, South Korea, The Netherlands, United Arab Emirates, United Kingdom, United States, Uruguay, and the European Commission representing the European Union, showcasing their unified objectives to this cause. MAN Industries is aligning itself with India’s ambitious targets set by the Ministry of New and Renewable Energy. Their aim for achieving net zero emissions by 2070 and energy independence by 2047 resonates with the company’s vision for a sustainable future powered by hydrogen.
