The IICCI along with the Embassy of Italy in India has scheduled a technical webinar on HEAVY ENGINEERING METAL-WORKING MACHINING SOLUTIONS FROM ITALY on Novevmber 30, 2021. The webinar series will focus on presenting Italian technology through the Make in India initiative and exploring the opportunities for Indo-Italian collaboration for overall manufacturing growth
FICEP S.P.A. is an Italian firm that has expertise in providing innovative machining solutions for the steel construction industry will be participating in the webinar as a guest. To satisfy all the requests of the global steel construction market and a mission guided by a clear strategic view, the company has targeted one of the main trends emerging from the worldwide markets.
As per the FICEP’s statement, the current trend in the global market is the need to design and build complete production lines with intelligent steel fabrication solutions. FICEP can play a pivotal role in managing every single step, offering the widest range of hardware and software solutions to cover the whole production.
The webinar organized by the Indo-Italian Chamber of Commerce and Industry (IICCI) will be chaired by Hari Shanker, Managing Editor, Machine Maker.
Additionally, on behalf of FICEP Nick Blackwell, Area Manager & Manickaraj Marannan, Business Head Ficep India, along with Pradman Innovative Machining Solutions for the Steel Construction Industry are expected to participate in the event.
Talking to the Machine Maker team, Mr Marannan shed some light on what can be expected from this event. Commenting on the role that will be played by FICEP, he said,” India is world’s second-largest population and with the pace at which Indian infrastructure and manufacturing sector have grown catering to the requirement of quality steel processing segment, India as a manufacturing unit requires state-of-the-art machinery to process the entire steel
fabrication processes and production management software packages.
FICEP with its best-in-class infrastructure and expertise in providing innovative solutions has decided to invest in the Indian market to trigger the joint growth of both the countries.”
The company offers a wide range of 120 machines in total that it manufactures in Italy and offers various technologies worldwide including India for steel construction applications.
FICEP has no immediate plans on starting manufacturing operations in India, but will slowly step in via the sales and services activities. The company has been operating on Indian soil for the past four decades along with Pradman Group although the steel processing industry is picking up in the last 10 years. Ficep has successfully installed base of over 450 CNC lines in India and has a strong local company to support the customers for all services and spare requirements promptly.
In the words of Mr Marannan, “FICEP through this venture will provide a necessary push to the Indian manufacturing and infrastructure industry that revolves around steel as a major component.”
“FICEP’s expertise in providing innovative solutions in almost every sector that works around steel processing will help its Indian counterparts in a significant way. The company manufacturers nearly 500 CNC machines annually and provide a complete package of solutions to the concerned industry,” he added.
FICEP invests adequate turnover back into the R&D department and hence has been able to keep up with the ever-evolving technology. The company has recently launched a machine named ‘Energy’ that will cater to the windmill towers, pressure vessel, and shipyards industries, etc to process heavy plates for complex weld preparations. The company has also worked seriously on sustainable development goals.
In the past, FICEP has been associated with the power generation companies in India, but after looking at the recent developments in other markets, the company has decided to expand its horizons in India. FICEP has identified the infrastructure sector as the stepping stone to enter the Indian structural steel processing industry.
Speaking about the scope for improvement in the Indian system, Mr Marannan said,” Indian authorities need to be more dynamic when it comes to the policymaking process especially catering to such industries. If India has to compete with China in terms of the manufacturing and infrastructure sector, India needs to step up its game and think of a way on implementing solutions on the problems faced by the industries.”
The Indo-Italian joint venture will be a game-changing partnership in turning around the fortune of both countries. The IICCI’s dynamic involvement in the due process along with other authorities is a measure of good times to come ahead. The two countries can learn a lot from each other on different fronts and be a leading example of what wonders can a joint venture like this achieve for the nation.
