MAIRE has taken a significant step forward in its energy transition activities across Central Asia. The company, through its subsidiaries NEXTCHEM and Tecnimont Services, has signed new cooperation agreements with SOCAR Green, part of Azerbaijan’s state oil company SOCAR, to explore and develop projects in renewable energy and decarbonization.

The agreements target specific areas such as renewable power generation, low-carbon technologies, waste-to-energy, green hydrogen, biofuels, and methane emission reduction. These efforts support Azerbaijan’s national target to cut greenhouse gas emissions by 35% by 2030 and to expand its renewable energy capacity.

In a parallel move, NEXTCHEM has signed a cooperation agreement with Uzbekneftegaz OJSC, the state-owned oil company of Uzbekistan. This collaboration aims to modernize the country’s infrastructure and reduce its carbon footprint, with a focus on producing Sustainable Aviation Fuel (SAF) from waste and alternative feedstocks using NEXTCHEM’s proprietary NX SAF™ BIO and NX PTU™ technologies. Alessandro Bernini, CEO of MAIRE, stated that the agreements reinforce the Group’s long-standing presence in the Caspian region and build on over a decade of working with SOCAR.
