Mahindra & Mahindra has introduced Level 2 Advanced Driver Assistance Systems (ADAS) in its popular Scorpio-N SUV. The technology upgrade debuts in the top-end Z8L variant and comes as the company celebrates three years of Scorpio-N on Indian roads, with over 2.5 lakh units sold.
With the addition of Level 2 ADAS, Mahindra raises the safety and driver-assist features in the Scorpio-N to a new level. Key functions include Forward Collision Warning, Automatic Emergency Braking, Adaptive Cruise Control with Stop & Go, Lane Keep Assist, Lane Departure Warning, Smart Pilot Assist, Traffic Sign Recognition, and High Beam Assist.
Two features are making their debut in Mahindra’s internal combustion engine (ICE) vehicles: Speed Limit Assist and Front Vehicle Start Alert. Speed Limit Assist helps drivers stay within legal speed limits by adjusting the cruise control settings with a single button. The Front Vehicle Start Alert notifies the driver when the car ahead moves, using visual cues, sound, and vibrations. These systems build on the vehicle’s 5-star safety rating from the Global NCAP and represent a significant leap in in-car safety for the segment.
To offer more flexibility in its premium lineup, Mahindra has launched the Z8T variant. Positioned between the Z8 and Z8L trims, the Z8T is packed with premium equipment while maintaining a strong value proposition.
Standout features in the Z8T include 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, a 12-speaker Sony audio system, a front camera, front parking sensors, ventilated front seats, an auto-dimming rearview mirror, a 6-way powered driver seat, and an electronic parking brake.
The launch of the Z8T is part of Mahindra’s ongoing efforts to cater to different customer expectations while offering modern technology, comfort, and safety in a rugged SUV platform. The new variant complements the broader Scorpio-N range and enhances the brand’s appeal in the premium SUV segment.
