Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd, India’s premier SUV manufacturer, has unveiled its Global Vision 2027, introducing the all-new NU_IQ platform — a modular, multi-energy architecture that will serve as the foundation for its future SUV lineup. As part of this strategic vision, the company showcased four advanced SUV design concepts: Vision.S, Vision.T, Vision.SXT, and Vision.X.

Developed to meet the evolving expectations of global consumers, the NU_IQ platform is designed for flexibility, offering compatibility with multiple powertrains and body styles. This next-generation platform aims to push boundaries in SUV design, performance, and technology — reinforcing Mahindra’s position in global markets across both right-hand and left-hand drive regions.

“This platform marks the beginning of a new era for Mahindra SUVs,” said R Velusamy, President – Automotive Business (Designate) at Mahindra & Mahindra Ltd. and Managing Director of Mahindra Electric Automobile Ltd. “It enables us to deliver powerful, safe, and emotionally engaging SUVs without making our customers compromise on what matters most — design, performance, and capability.”

With NU_IQ, Mahindra is addressing unmet needs in the SUV market — or “white spaces” — through vehicles that are bold, distinct, and globally relevant. The four new SUV concepts are a bold expression of Mahindra’s evolving design direction, built on its HEARTCORE philosophy — a vision that blends emotional connection with functional design. These vehicles were co-developed by the Mahindra India Design Studio (MIDS) in Mumbai and Mahindra Advanced Design Europe (MADE) in Banbury, UK, ensuring a global design sensibility with strong Indian roots. Each concept showcases a unique personality that aligns with Mahindra’s commitment to create SUVs that are not only visually striking but also aligned with customer needs across diverse lifestyles.

Vision.S presents a muscular and contemporary profile, representing athleticism and balanced proportions. Vision.T pays tribute to Mahindra’s legacy with a design that draws on iconic, timeless styling. Vision.SXT delivers a refined balance between versatility and elegant confidence, while Vision.X channels a dynamic, sculpted look suited for both city streets and rugged terrains. Together, these four concepts embody a new era of Mahindra SUVs—designed for emotion, engineered for performance.

Pratap Bose, Chief Design and Creative Officer, Auto & Farm Sectors, said, “These concepts reimagine what Mahindra SUVs can be. They’re bold, expressive, and emotionally resonant — aimed at forming a lasting connection with drivers, no matter where they are in the world. The theme of ‘Opposites Attract’ informs this new design direction, where contrasting elements work together to create something truly special.”

All four concepts are being developed at Mahindra Research Valley, with production expected to begin in 2027. The platform’s versatility will allow Mahindra to adapt to evolving powertrain trends — including internal combustion, electric, and hybrid systems — offering a broad range of options to global consumers.

Nalinikanth Gollagunta, CEO of Mahindra’s Automotive Division and Executive Director at Mahindra Electric Automobile Ltd., added, “NU_IQ is more than a platform — it’s our roadmap for the future. It blends global design sensibilities with cutting-edge technology to deliver vehicles that are both aspirational and accessible. These concept vehicles preview a future where premium SUVs deliver performance, style, and sustainability in equal measure.”

Mahindra’s new SUV concepts are intended for global rollout, including markets where left-hand drive vehicles dominate. The company aims to scale its presence internationally by delivering products that offer luxury, off-road capability, and advanced technology, without straying from its core identity of rugged, reliable SUVs.

As Mahindra prepares to bring these vehicles to market, its Global Vision 2027 marks a significant shift in its product strategy — a move toward premium, design-led innovation on a global stage. Established in 1945, the Mahindra Group is a leading global federation of companies, employing over 260,000 people across more than 100 countries. In India, it holds strong leadership positions in farm equipment, utility SUVs, information technology, and financial services, and is recognized as the world’s largest tractor manufacturer by volume. The Group also has a significant footprint in sectors such as renewable energy, agriculture, logistics, hospitality, and real estate.

Mahindra is committed to global leadership in environmental, social, and governance (ESG) practices, with a focus on promoting rural prosperity and improving urban living. Its mission is to create lasting, positive impact for communities and stakeholders, empowering them to progress and thrive.
