Mahindra Logistics Limited, a leading provider of end-to-end logistics and supply chain solutions, has significantly enhanced its presence in Eastern India by opening two Grade-A warehousing facilities in Guwahati and Agartala, adding more than 4 lakh square feet of capacity. These developments form part of the company’s broader strategy to build a strong, nationwide logistics network and support growing regional demand for integrated logistics services.
Eastern India continues to emerge as a key centre for industry and trade, backed by major infrastructure projects such as the Eastern Dedicated Freight Corridor, Bharatmala highways, modernization of the Kolkata–Haldia port, and improved connectivity through multimodal transport systems like the Brahmaputra terminals. With enhanced cross-border routes—including Maitri Setu and the Akhaura–Agartala rail link—the region is poised for accelerated growth. Mahindra Logistics’ new facilities are designed to tap into these developments, offering scalable solutions for industries such as e-commerce, FMCG, automotive, retail, pharma, and grocery.
As part of its ‘Go-East’ expansion plan, Mahindra Logistics has already established over 1 million sq ft of multi-client warehousing space in the region and aims to broaden its express logistics reach to more than 800 pin codes. The initiative is expected to create over 2,000 jobs, with a focus on 50% workforce representation from local communities, thereby contributing to economic development and skill growth.
Commenting on the launch, Hemant Sikka, Managing Director & CEO, Mahindra Logistics, said “With India now ranked as the world’s fourth-largest economy and aiming for a $30 trillion milestone by 2047, efficient logistics systems will be central to enabling this progress. The new warehousing facilities in Guwahati and Agartala represent our commitment to creating a connected, scalable supply chain network across India, especially in underserved regions. These hubs will strengthen regional linkages and support trade from tier-II and tier-III cities.”
The Guwahati facility, spread across 3 lakh sq ft, is now North-East India’s largest Grade-A multi-client warehouse. Strategically located near NH 17, the Guwahati International Airport (11.7 km), and Mirza Railway Station (7.1 km), it connects efficiently to major industrial zones like Uparhali, Palasbari, and Rampur. It also features the region’s first Community Center of Excellence, launched in partnership with the Logistics Skill Council under the Ministry of Skill Development & Entrepreneurship.
The Agartala warehouse, covering 1.3 lakh sq ft, is strategically situated to serve production and consumption hubs across Tripura, Mizoram, Meghalaya, and Manipur. Positioned to support cross-border trade with Bangladesh, it enhances just-in-time deliveries and provides robust infrastructure for first-mile and last-mile logistics operations. The facility strengthens Agartala’s role as a logistics gateway for Northeast India, offering exporters improved access to both domestic and international markets.
Mahindra Logistics’ investments in the East reflect its long-term vision to develop a future-ready, inclusive logistics ecosystem, aligning closely with India’s economic growth and regional development priorities.
