Mahindra & Mahindra has inaugurated two advanced testing facilities in Kanchipuram, Tamil Nadu, aimed at enhancing the safety and innovation of its SUVs. The new facilities include a passive safety lab for evaluating vehicle safety under various conditions and a battery and cell research laboratory for advancing cell technology.

The testing centers, established with an investment of over Rs 300 crore, are located 55 kilometers from Mahindra’s Research Valley (MRV), where all of the company’s SUVs are developed. These state-of-the-art labs will allow Mahindra’s engineers to conduct in-depth research and testing to ensure the highest safety standards for their vehicles.

“Safety and sustainability are top priorities for us at Mahindra, and these labs will enable our engineers to design cutting-edge, safe SUVs for our customers,” said Velusamy R, President of Automotive Technology & Product Development at M&M. The new facilities will complement the work done at the MRV and the Mahindra SUV Proving Track (MSPT), where vehicles are put through extensive testing in diverse terrains and simulations.
