Mahindra Group has set up a dedicated division focused on artificial intelligence (AI) to boost growth across its various companies, according to Bhuwan Lodha, the head of the new division. The goal is to centralize AI efforts and help all businesses within the conglomerate harness the power of AI.
Lodha, who was previously the head of digital at Mahindra’s auto business, shared that the division will pool AI talent from across the group’s companies to drive success. “We’ve created an AI division at the group level to support all our businesses in their AI endeavors,” Lodha said.
He noted that over the last couple of years, AI has become increasingly important, leading many companies to experiment with the technology. However, these projects were often side initiatives. “Now, we’re making AI a core part of our strategy,” Lodha added.
The new division will develop tailored AI solutions for different sectors within Mahindra Group, including automotive, real estate, and hospitality. It will also seek out cutting-edge AI innovations from startups and universities to integrate into the group’s operations.
While Tech Mahindra, the group’s IT services arm, has its own large team of domain experts, Lodha emphasized that the AI division will collaborate closely with Tech Mahindra to leverage their expertise. The division also aims to create a strong pipeline of AI talent within the group, providing employees with exciting opportunities to work on diverse projects across industries.
