Maav Industries Ltd, based in Mangalore, has taken a meaningful step toward combining environmental responsibility with educational support. As part of its social outreach efforts, the company has donated 50 chairs made from recycled plastic to the Government School in Kakke Padavu, Karnataka.

The donation improves the school’s classroom infrastructure, directly enhancing student comfort and engagement. It also demonstrates how used plastic materials, often seen as waste, can be converted into practical assets that serve communities. The school welcomed the new furniture during a handover event attended by Head Mistress Vishalalakshmi, faculty members, students, and Maav’s directors — Ms Asha, Mr Atul, and Mr Shrinidhi.

All 50 chairs were produced at Maav’s Mangalore facilities, where over 225 tons of post-use plastic are processed each month. The company aims to scale this capacity to 10,000 tons annually by 2030. “This initiative reflects our belief that environmental efforts should also uplift society,” said Madhusudhan Agalpady, Founder and Managing Director of Maav Industries. “By donating furniture made from recycled plastic, we are supporting education while proving that waste can be transformed into useful, everyday items.”

Head Mistress Ms Vishalalakshmi expressed appreciation on behalf of the school: “The timing of this donation is perfect. These additional chairs will make a real difference in our classrooms. It’s inspiring to see a local business contribute to education in such a thoughtful and sustainable way.”

This initiative is part of Maav’s broader commitment to community welfare, education, and ecological stewardship. As the company continues to grow its recycling operations, it plans to expand similar programs to benefit more schools and local institutions.

Established in 1988 and restructured as a public limited company in 2025, Maav Industries Ltd operates out of Mangalore, Karnataka. The company specializes in recycled plastic solutions, along with hardware and power tool manufacturing. With two facilities located in Yeyyadi and Baikampady, Maav employs more than 70 people and processes over 225 tons of post-consumer plastic monthly. Its in-house recycling technology allows the company to repurpose waste into durable, functional products, contributing to national sustainability efforts.
