Global pharmaceutical company Lupin Limited has announced the inauguration of Atharv Ability, an advanced multidisciplinary neuro-rehabilitation centre in Naraina Vihar, Delhi, aimed at strengthening access to specialized neurological recovery and rehabilitation services in North India. The new facility has been designed to provide comprehensive rehabilitation support for both adults and children affected by neurological disorders and disabilities. The centre combines clinical expertise, technology-enabled therapy systems, and personalized rehabilitation programs to support mobility restoration, cognitive improvement, and long-term recovery outcomes.

Atharv Ability focuses on treating a broad range of neurological conditions, including stroke, spinal cord injuries, traumatic brain injuries, Parkinson’s disease, multiple sclerosis, cerebral palsy, and other pediatric neurological disorders. The centre seeks to address growing demand for integrated rehabilitation services in a region where access to specialized neuro-recovery infrastructure remains limited.

The Delhi launch follows the successful establishment of Atharv Ability centres in Mumbai in 2023 and Hyderabad in 2024. Lupin said the expansion reflects its broader commitment to improving long-term neurological care pathways and extending high-quality rehabilitation services across multiple regions in India.

Commenting on the launch, Rajeev Sibal, President – India Region Formulations at Lupin, said advances in neurological treatment have significantly improved patient survival and medical outcomes, making rehabilitation increasingly important in restoring independence and quality of life. According to Mr Sibal, healthcare delivery must evolve beyond primary treatment and include sustained rehabilitation support that addresses physical, cognitive, and emotional recovery. He stated that Atharv Ability has been developed with a patient-centric approach focused on making advanced neuro-rehabilitation accessible, affordable, and standardized across the country.

The centre integrates multiple rehabilitation disciplines under one roof, enabling coordinated treatment programs tailored to individual patient needs. Lupin stated that the facility includes advanced technologies such as end-effector robotics for gait and hand rehabilitation, artificial intelligence-based balance and posture correction systems, and virtual reality-assisted therapy modules.

The centre also offers a broad range of rehabilitation therapies, including neuro-physiotherapy, occupational therapy, speech and swallowing therapy, cognitive and behavioral rehabilitation, aqua therapy, and visual rehabilitation programs. These integrated treatment approaches are intended to support faster recovery, improve movement coordination, and enhance patient independence in daily activities.

Healthcare experts note that neurological disorders often require long-term rehabilitation interventions extending beyond hospital-based treatment. Stroke survivors, spinal injury patients, and individuals with neurodegenerative diseases frequently need multidisciplinary therapy support to regain mobility, communication abilities, and functional independence.

India has witnessed rising incidence of neurological disorders due to aging populations, changing lifestyles, road accidents, and increasing awareness of neurological conditions. However, specialized neuro-rehabilitation infrastructure remains concentrated in a limited number of urban centres, creating significant accessibility challenges for patients and caregivers. Lupin stated that Atharv Ability has been developed to help bridge these treatment gaps by creating structured and technology-supported rehabilitation environments focused on measurable outcomes and sustained recovery.
