Lumax Cornaglia inaugurates new Pune Plant

Lumax Cornaglia Auto Technologies Private Limited (LCAT), a joint venture between Lumax Auto Technologies Limited (LATL) and Cornaglia s.p.a., Italy, marked a significant milestone today with the inauguration of its new manufacturing facility in Chakan, Pune. This expansion underscores LCAT’s commitment to providing cutting-edge emission products for both two-wheelers and four-wheelers in India and beyond.

Spanning over 2.5 lakh square feet, the new facility boasts a dedicated 7,000 square feet in-house R&D laboratory, symbolizing a pivotal step towards innovation and technological advancement in the automotive sector. The inauguration ceremony witnessed the presence of key stakeholders, including Mr. Anmol Jain, Managing Director of Lumax Auto Technologies, and Mr. Pier Mario Cornaglia, CEO of Cornaglia Group, Italy.

The plant, with an initial investment exceeding INR 30 crores, is poised to revolutionize the production landscape with its deployment of modern European machines, ensuring superior quality across a diverse range of emission products. Notably, the facility pioneers the manufacturing of plastic fuel tanks for commercial vehicles and employs niche technologies such as 3D Blow Moulding for producing hoses and ducts.

In alignment with environmental sustainability goals, the facility incorporates eco-friendly features like solar panels covering the roof with a capacity of 990KV and water recycling systems. This underscores LCAT’s commitment to responsible manufacturing practices.

Mr. Deepak Jain, Director of Lumax Auto Technologies, emphasized the enduring partnership between Lumax and Cornaglia Group, spanning 16 years. He highlighted the joint endeavor to deliver world-class technologies to the Indian auto market, thereby enhancing customer satisfaction and market competitiveness.

Echoing Mr. Jain’s sentiments, Mr. Pier Mario Cornaglia expressed optimism about the future trajectory of the partnership, citing substantial growth opportunities fueled by the evolving needs of OEMs in the region.

“This new facility positions LCAT as a one-stop solution provider for complete vehicle-level emission products, catering to the diverse requirements of auto OEMs,” remarked Mr. Vikas Marwah, CEO of Lumax Auto Technologies. He underscored the company’s commitment to customer-centric innovation and operational excellence.

LCAT’s customer portfolio includes esteemed names such as Tata Motors, Skoda Volkswagen India, Toyota India & Indonesia, Mahindra, Stellantis, MG Motors, SEAT, Skoda Czech, and VW Poland, reflecting the company’s formidable presence in the automotive landscape.
