LTIMindtree a leading global technology consulting and digital services firm, has been selected by the Central Board of Direct Taxes (CBDT) to implement the ambitious PAN 2.0 initiative. Valued at ₹792 crore, the project aims to revamp India’s Permanent Account Number (PAN) and Tax Deduction Account Number (TAN) systems under a unified digital platform, enhancing ease of access and efficiency for individuals and businesses alike.

As part of this Government to Citizen (G2C) initiative, LTIMindtree will oversee the full development and operation of the technology backbone for PAN 2.0. This includes creating a secure, AI-powered digital ecosystem covering every stage of the PAN lifecycle—from application and verification to printing and delivery. The new platform will offer an intuitive interface to support millions of users while aligning with the broader national push for digital governance.

The company’s responsibilities encompass the migration of existing PAN records with advanced AI-led deduplication, seamless integration with the Aadhaar Data Vault, and the establishment of critical infrastructure such as data centres, disaster recovery systems, network and security operations hubs. Additionally, LTIMindtree will set up operational facilities at Income Tax Department locations and provide multi-language call centre support and grievance resolution services for citizens.

“We’re proud to be chosen for this landmark project,” said Venu Lambu, CEO and Managing Director of LTIMindtree. “PAN 2.0 represents a significant step in India’s digital evolution, and we are committed to building a platform that enhances accessibility, transparency, and reliability in public service delivery. This opportunity reaffirms our long-standing partnership with the Government of India.”
