LTIMindtree, a global leader in technology consulting and digital solutions, has launched the Integrated Village Development Programme (IVDP) in Balarampur, a block in West Bengal recognized for its tribal population and unique development needs. The initiative is part of LTIMindtree’s Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) efforts, aimed at promoting sustainable development and improving the quality of life for the community in collaboration with local organizations.

In partnership with the EAGL Livelihood Foundation, LTIMindtree has rolled out a range of initiatives in education, healthcare, and livelihood support for the residents of Balarampur. The program includes infrastructure upgrades, educational interventions, and agricultural support.

Key accomplishments of the program include the renovation of AnganwadiCentres, the establishment of STEM labs in two local schools, and the launch of free coaching centres for students preparing for board exams. These projects were inaugurated by LTIMindtree’s Chief Sustainability Officer, Paneesh Rao, alongside the unveiling of a solar-powered traffic signal system designed to improve road safety and reduce accidents in the area.

Paneesh Rao commented, “The IVDP launch in Balarampur reflects LTIMindtree’s commitment to sustainable growth and improving the quality of life in rural communities. Through partnerships with local organizations, we aim to empower the residents of Balarampur by focusing on education, healthcare, and infrastructure to bring about lasting change.”

Under the IVDP initiative in Balarampur, five Anganwadi Centres across various villages have been revitalized into model facilities. These centres are now equipped with educational resources and play areas, providing essential services to children and mothers while promoting early learning and development.

Alongside this, the program is upgrading five local schools to create a more conducive learning environment. Renovation efforts are aimed at transforming these schools into model institutions to foster educational excellence in the region.

To further bolster academic achievement, the initiative has established free coaching centres at BaraUrma High School and Chanditala High School. These centres aim to assist students preparing for board exams, equipping them with the resources and guidance needed to achieve scores exceeding 60%.

By addressing the educational needs of students, the program aspires to empower the youth with better academic opportunities and brighter prospects for the future. The IVDP has also introduced critical agricultural support measures to benefit local farmers.

As part of the program, farm ponds with a combined storage capacity of 22,500 cubic meters have been constructed to address irrigation challenges. These ponds are expected to enhance the productivity of approximately 450 acres of farmland, ensuring sustainable water availability and boosting agricultural output. This initiative not only aids in improving livelihoods but also strengthens the agricultural infrastructure in the region.
