Larsen & Toubro (L&T), a renowned engineering and construction conglomerate, has marked a significant milestone in its global operations by manufacturing a state-of-the-art hydrotreating reactor for the Antonio Dovali Jaime Refinery in Salina Cruz, Mexico.
The hydrotreating reactor, equipped with critical Cr-Mo-V metallurgy, has been developed based on cutting-edge technology pioneered by the France-headquartered Axens. Manufactured at L&T’s A M Naik Heavy Engineering Complex in Hazira, Gujarat, the reactor showcases exceptional engineering prowess, having been completed within a record timeframe of 15 months.
In a statement released on Tuesday, L&T highlighted the significance of the hydrotreating process facilitated by the reactor. This catalytic conversion method plays a crucial role in petroleum refining, enabling the removal of impurities such as nitrogen and sulphur compounds from hydrocarbon streams, thus enhancing the quality and efficiency of refined products.
L&T‘s successful delivery of the hydrotreating reactor underscores its commitment to innovation and excellence in engineering solutions for the global energy industry. With operations spanning over 50 countries worldwide, L&T is a USD 23 billion Indian multinational renowned for its expertise in engineering, procurement, and construction projects, as well as hi-tech manufacturing and services.
The completion and dispatch of the hydrotreating reactor to the Antonio Dovali Jaime Refinery mark a significant contribution by L&T to the modernization and efficiency enhancement of Mexico’s refining infrastructure. This accomplishment further solidifies L&T’s position as a trusted partner in delivering advanced engineering solutions to clients worldwide, while also advancing the global energy transition towards more sustainable and efficient practices.
