L&T-Cloudfiniti, a digital infrastructure entity within the Larsen & Toubro Group, has formed a strategic alliance with Bengaluru-based deep-tech firm QpiAI to advance global quantum computing capabilities. The collaboration is aimed at accelerating quantum computing workloads, including the deployment of Quantum Computing as a Service (QCAAS), to enable scalable and domain-specific quantum applications.

The partnership will also engage with initiatives under India’s National Quantum Mission. QpiAI, recognized for building Indus, a 25-qubit quantum computer—India’s most advanced to date—plans to expand its capabilities with a 256-qubit system and a future fault-tolerant quantum platform featuring 100 logical qubits. These developments are expected to pave the way for broader commercial adoption of quantum technologies.

By integrating L&T’s industrial scale with QpiAI’s deep technological expertise, both firms will jointly pursue research and development initiatives targeting complex problem-solving at the convergence of artificial intelligence and quantum computing. Key application areas include finance, logistics, healthcare, and other sectors requiring high-performance computational solutions.

Seema Ambastha, Chief Executive of L&T-Cloudfiniti, noted that the collaboration will utilize L&T’s cloud infrastructure to support quantum algorithm execution, enabling large-scale deployment across industries. She emphasized the potential to improve operational efficiencies and deliver transformative digital solutions.

Dr Nagendra Nagaraja, Chief Executive Officer of QpiAI, described the alliance as a significant step in the evolution of quantum computing. He underscored the potential to bring advanced quantum solutions to market, especially in alignment with national-level research and innovation programmes. This strategic agreement marks a notable advancement in applied quantum computing, reinforcing both companies’ positions at the forefront of emerging digital technologies.

L&T-Cloudfiniti operates as a next-generation digital infrastructure company offering AI-optimized hyperscale data centre services. With operations in Mumbai, Chennai, and other major cities, its portfolio includes colocation services, GPU cloud capabilities, and cloud-native platforms. The company caters to enterprise, hyperscaler, and public sector clients globally, leveraging the engineering expertise of the L&T Group.
