Lockheed Martin and Fujitsu Partner on SPY-7 Supply and Strategic Initiatives

Lockheed Martin, a global leader in advanced radar technology, and Fujitsu Limited, a prominent Japanese company in information and communications technology, have finalized a Memorandum of Understanding (MOU) designating Fujitsu as the supplier of the SPY-7 Subarray Suite Power Supply Line Replaceable Unit (PS LRU). This collaboration, which supports the Aegis System Equipped Vessel program, is set to lead to purchase orders expected in 2025.

“By manufacturing essential components of the SPY-7 radar locally, Japan can be assured that this system will be sustained and supported for many decades,” said Paul Lemmo, Vice President and General Manager at Lockheed Martin. “We are privileged to contribute to the future of Japan’s defense sector and play a role in strengthening the country’s defense workforce.”

In 2024, Lockheed Martin and Fujitsu signed a prior MOU to expand the production and maintenance of solid-state radar technology in Japan. This collaboration reflects Lockheed Martin’s ongoing commitment to growing the defense workforce in Japan and ensuring the continued production and support of critical radar components.
